Can I get a same-day appointment?

Carmel Pediatrics is usually able to accommodate same day appointments. Please call our office for appointment availability.

Do you accept walk-in patients?

Yes, however you may experience an extended wait depending on that day's schedule.

Will my insurance cover my child's visit?

Carmel Pediatrics accepts the following insurance:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield

  • MedCost

  • Medicaid

  • Tricare

  • United Healthcare

Do you provide care on weekends or at night?

Carmel Pediatrics provides 24/7 emergency call services. If you feel your child needs medical attention after hours, on a weekend, or during a holiday, please call the office at 704-752-2000. You will be forwarded to Dr. Dickinson's personal phone. Please leave a detailed message including your name, your child's name and date of birth, and a call back number. You will receive a prompt return phone call from Dr. Dickinson who will assess your child's needs and offer her expert advice. 

If you feel your child needs urgent medical attention, we recommend visiting the Children's Urgent Cares of Blakeney or Cotswold, both of whom Carmel Pediatrics works with regularly to ensure the highest quality healthcare for your child.

Do you work with other healthcare providers in Charlotte?

Carmel Pediatrics is proud to be affiliated with the doctors at Levine Children’s Hospital at Carolinas Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital. Carmel Pediatrics has a co-management agreement with Carolinas HealthCare System, which allows us to work easily with a variety of medical specialists including vision, hearing, dental, skin, and behavioral health. For more urgent health needs, Carmel Pediatrics has co-management agreements with the doctors at Carolinas HealthCare Children’s Urgent Cares of Blakeney and Cotswold. These agreements ensure that the doctors at these clinics have access to up to date medical information regarding your child's health.

What is your recommended vaccine schedule?

Dr. Dickinson, as a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatrics, fully supports the policies on vaccination as set forth by the American Academy of Pediatrics. During your visit. Dr. Dickinson will provide information on preventable childhood diseases and engage with families on the many misconceptions surrounding vaccines. Dr. Dickinson will work closely with families to obtain the goal of full vaccination status.
